Deadline Approaching to Submit Medicare Part D Creditable/Non-creditable Coverage Notice to CMS
As a reminder, group health plan sponsors that provide prescription drug coverage to Medicare Part D eligible individuals must disclose to CMS on an annual basis whether the coverage qualifies as creditable or non-creditable no later than 60 days after the beginning of each plan year. For calendar year plans, this date is Feb. 29, 2016 (normally March 1, but due to the leap year the date falls in February this year).
The disclosure, called the Creditable Coverage Disclosure to CMS Form, can be found on the CMS website. This is a separate requirement from the Notice of Creditable Coverage to Part D eligible individuals, which most plans complied with by Oct. 15, 2015. If you need assistance with this requirement, please ask your ShawHankins Benefits Consultant.
